Wood Fire Pizza & Catering Expands into a True Community Hub in Detroit Lakes

Wood Fire Pizza & Catering in Detroit Lakes is leveling up. Since opening, the local favorite has built a reputation for fast, flavorful wood-fired pizza—but with its newly expanded space, it’s becoming something even bigger: a full-on community gathering place.

The newly unveiled 3,000-square-foot addition brings a much larger dining area, new event spaces, and exciting features designed to bring people together. Guests are still welcomed by the same friendly staff and signature wood-fired oven, but now there’s even more to experience—including a second oven to keep up with demand.

One of the standout additions is the self-pour tap system, featuring 16 taps both indoors and outside. Guests can sample a variety of drinks at their own pace, creating a fun, interactive experience that keeps things casual and convenient.

The space itself was designed with connection in mind. A massive wall-sized screen—dubbed the “screen of the community”—hosts everything from sporting events to movie nights, making it a go-to spot for gathering with friends and family. Upstairs, guests will find private areas like a boardroom and lounge, perfect for meetings, parties, or group events.

Outside, the vision continues with a growing backyard space that includes a patio, self-pour taps, and a large turf field that will soon host games, leagues, and community activities.

Owner Tanner Duncan says the goal has always been to create more than just a restaurant—and it shows. With flexible spaces, unique features, and a welcoming atmosphere, Wood Fire Pizza is quickly becoming a place where everyone can find their own “spot.”
